GridBridge Sourcing and the limits of an independent desk

This page explains the procurement role. It is not a factory history, a capacity claim, or a dealer appointment. Buyers who arrived from a brand search still need a specification before any alternative quotation is useful.

Checkpoints in the sourcing sequence

  1. 01

Search is recorded as a reference

The brand phrase is kept as the buyer reference. It is not rewritten into a statement that GridBridge Sourcing sells that brand or operates its plants.

  2. 02

    Use and geometry are written

Footprint, eave height, clear span, and bay spacing are entered with units. A missing unit is queried before suppliers see the note.

  3. 03

Loads and code edition are requested

Wind speed, ground snow load, seismic design category, and the IBC or IRC edition the project intends to follow are listed as inputs. They are not assumed from a neighboring county.

  4. 04

    Scope boundary is frozen

Shell, delivered, installed, and turnkey are named. Items that move between those labels after quotes arrive are treated as a revision.

  5. 05

    Supplier answers are lined up

Each answer is checked for the same quantity and destination. Deviations in primary frame, envelope, or foundation interface are marked rather than smoothed over.

  6. 06

    Buyer team decides

The structural engineer, the code reviewer, and the buyer retain the award. The desk does not stamp drawings or accept the building on their behalf.

What the desk will and will not say

No invented plant list

Factories are contacted against the brief. Their names appear when they answer, not as a standing roster on this site.

No borrowed certificates

AISC 360, AWS D1.1, IAS AC472, ISO 9001, and HUD Code are topics to verify on the quoted system. They are not medals of this website.

No blended price story

A kit price and an installed price stay in different columns. The desk will not publish a percentage saving against a brand list.

No occupancy guess

A hangar, a workshop, and a storage shell do not share one fire or energy assumption. The buyer states the occupancy.

No silent substitution

If a supplier offers cold-formed steel where the brief asked for a hot-rolled rigid frame, the change is written down for the engineer to accept.

No permit proxy

Submittals can be organized. Approval by the authority having jurisdiction is outside the sourcing role.

Start from the six-line index

If use, dimensions, loads, jurisdiction, quantity, and destination are known, send them. If one is unknown, say so in the same message rather than leaving a blank that a supplier might fill with a default.

Enter the buyer contact name.
Enter a work email for the quotation follow-up.
Enter the buying company.
Describe the specification, quantity, destination, and delivery timing.

The desk reviews the brief and asks factories for quotations on that written scope. Stock, price, code approval, and delivery stay unconfirmed until a named supplier answers the exact system. Read the Privacy Policy.
